Cube Carving

2020

The project challenges students to understand space as volume. Experimenting with the grid, three-dimensional compositions are constructed only with solids and voids. The students are required to explore a specific proportion system of the grid in order to construct both a spatial and a mathematical hierarchy. Furthermore, students simultaneously experiment with the negative and the positive versions of the solid/void objects in order to achieve similar articulations between the two.
