The final project of the semester invites students to synthesize the formal vocabulary and concepts learned in the semester through designing a small building at the natural quarry, Rock of Ages. The area of the building should not exceed 3,000 sq ft. Students are expected to identify a program for the building, formulate a coherent formal language, intentionally express the structure of the building, create a deliberate spatial sequence, and meet functional requirements of space.
