The elements of architecture can be understood in terms of vocabulary and grammars. This is not only a formal understanding of space but also a constructive understanding of space. New designs of the same family can be generated through the constructive process defined by vocabulary and grammars. Analyse a house; define its design langauge; use the language to design a new house.
